Story of Durnaz Bibi from Ghulam nai Jakrani village
Durnaz is 80 years old and is the oldest beneficiary from Ghulam nai Jakrani village. She has no family as she lost them in the floods. The village shares a strong bond with her and the community feels that they are responsible for her well being. They give her food and water and collectively take care of her daily needs. She lives in a small makeshift spontaneous shelter while her one room shelter is being constructed. It will be fully constructed for her as she is an 'extremely vulnerable.’
