Proposed IDP response plan (Phase II) for NWFP and FATA
In the wake of recent military operation in South Waziristan approximately 200,000 people have been displaced so far and the number of IDPs is expected to rise significantly. Alongside other humanitarian agencies UN-HABITAT Pakistan is ready to respond to their needs as well as to the needs of 1 million IDPs of the first displacement and 1.6 million returnees through the following cluster interventions that require USD 42,018,920 funding :
Shelter:
Shelter assistance for IDPs, host families, returnees and stayees
Supporting housing and settlements rehabilitation in NWFP and FATA
Technical support, data and gap analysis for Emergency Shelter and NFI cluster
WASH:
WASH interventions to support return of families in their areas of origin and IDPs in host families and
vulnerable host families in areas of displacement.
Protection:
Advisory services on Housing, Land and Property Rights/ Restititution in conflict affected areas
Sample survey on apprehensions of returning IDPs and stayees on housing, land, property(HLP); HLP rights in conflict affected areas of NWFP.
Community Restoration:
Community infrastructure rehabilitation and skills development in FATA and NWFP
Education:
Temporary structures for completely damaged schools with special focus on girls schools.
CCCM:
Technical assistance for shelter, camp management and skills development
